Garlic & Golden Syrup Spare Ribs

Let’s call it the Garlic & Golden Syrup Ribs – the key ingredients are loads of garlic (yeah like 4tbsp here), Maggi sauce and golden syrup.
And if time allows, marinate them for at least 48 hours. No jokes – it makes a huge difference. Not only you will have ribs that are packed with big flavours but super tender meat. As the process helps softening the muscle fibers and naturally break down protein.
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 40 minutes
- Total Time: 50 minutes
- 700g pork ribs
- 4 tbsp garlic, diced
- 1 tbsp ginger, diced
- 2 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1 tsp Maggi liquid seasoning
- 1 tbsp shaoxing wine
- 2 tbsp corn flour
- 1 tsp ground white pepper
- 2 tbsp golden syrup
- Mix all the ingredients in a bowl along with pork ribs.
- Marinade for at least 48 hours before baking in oven/ barbecue at 170 degree for 40 minutes until the ribs has a nice caramelized surface.
